At the Journalism Education Association/National Scholastic Press Association national convention in Kansas City, Mo., in November, the Hawkeye earned third place in Best of Show for newspapers that regularly print 16 pages. In addition, the student newspaper’s website, thehawkeye.org, received fifth place in Best of Show. Student Tanner Gregory and advisor Vince DeMiero traveled to Missouri to receive the awards and participate in the convention. Since 1994, the Hawkeye has annually placed in the top 10 nationally.
