Members of the Mountlake Terrace Hawks track teams gave a strong showing at Saturday’s Terrace Relays as squads from 19 high schools gathered for the big early-season meet.

The Hawk boys team was led by senior Brett Potter, placed first in the discus and second in the shot put. Nathan Sparks earned a second place spot in the 1600 meters, while Jack Pierce finished third in the 3200 meters.
On the girls side, Terrace sophomore dominated in two events, winning the long jump and the triple jump. McKenna Hunt grabbed two strong finishes, a second in the 100 meter hurdles and a third in the 300 meters. Katherine Gustafson finished second in the 1600 meters; Katherine Walter grabbed second in the 3200 meters, with teammate Sophia Nelson right behind her in third place. Hailee Malins also earned a third place finish in the discus.
