The Cascade Symphony Orchestra (CSO) concludes its 2025-26 season at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, May 4 when it presents From Mozart to Bernstein at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 4th Ave. N., in Edmonds.
The concert begins with Antonin Dvorak’s Overture to his opera, Vanda. Members of Northwestern Winds will then be featured in Mozart’s delightful Sinfonia Concertante for Oboe, Clarinet, Horn, Bassoon and orchestra. Established in 2024, Northwestern Winds’ members (Edward Benyas, Oboe; Denise Lum, Clarinet; Kyli White, Horn; and Steven Morgan, Bassoon) have collectively performed with the Chicago, Seattle, Milwaukee and Oregon Symphonies, the Seattle, Santa Fe and Chicago Lyric Operas, the Pacific Northwest and Joffrey Ballets, and at the Spoleto, Carmel Bach and Bellingham Music Festivals, among others.
The concert’s second half pays tribute to “America at 250,” with Samuel Ward’s America the Beautiful and Leonard Bernstein’s Overture to West Side Story. The concert concludes with Roman Festivals by Ottorino Respighi. According to Cascade Symphony Music Director, Michael Miropolsky, “Roman Festivals is the grand finale of the composer’s celebrated trilogy dedicated to his beloved city of Rome—an exhilarating and fitting conclusion to our 64th season.”
KING-FM radio personality Dave Beck presents a pre-concert lecture from the stage at 6:30 p.m. 2026 Cascade Symphony scholarship winners will be announced at the concert.
Concertgoers will also receive the Symphony’s 2026-27 season brochure, hot off the press, with season subscription renewals available beginning May 5. Complete information about the Cascade Symphony is available online at www.cascadesymphony.org.
Ticket prices are: $30 for adults; $25 for those under age 50; and $10 for youth (12 and younger) and can be purchased online through the ECA website or by telephone (425-275-9595) or in person.
