The District will launch its new “Summer Sounds” outdoor concert and vendor market series this summer at The District Plaza surrounding the Lynnwood Event Center. The free events will take place Wednesday evenings on June 17, July 8 and July 29.
The vendor market will run from 2-8 p.m., with live music performances scheduled from 6-8 p.m. each evening.
Each event will feature a different musical theme:
- June 17: Music of the 1960s and 1970s featuring performances by Souled Out Funk performing Motown music, Apple Jam and Randy Hansen.
- July 8: A pop-themed evening featuring Vanilla Abstract and Red Karma.
- July 29: A 1990s and early-2000s themed event featuring Deep Contact, Skablins and Pop Disaster.
Attendees can enjoy rotating food trucks, dessert and ice cream vendors, a 21-and-up beverage garden and a marketplace featuring handmade goods, flowers, plants, produce and other local products.
“Summer Sounds is the community-centered programming that The District was created to support, and we are now promoting and expanding,” The District Executive Director Janet Pope said. “Our goal is to sponsor events that bring people together, support local businesses and artists and continue building The District as a vibrant gathering place for the community.”
Organizers said the series is part of a broader effort to activate public spaces through arts, culture and community events in Lynnwood’s growing City Center.
