The Edmonds School District Board of Directors at its July 7 meeting will vote whether to adopt the proposed budget for the 2026-27 school year and also decide whether to adopt the proposed 2026-2031 Capital Facilities Plan.
First, the meeting will begin with a business and finance report for May 2026.
Capital Facilities Plan
Following the report is a second reading and a vote on the 2026-2031 Capital facilities plan – a move required biannually under state law. The report includes information on enrollment forecasts for the next six years, existing and future facility plans and needs, financing and a 2044 population forecast, according to District documents.
The District distributes this plan to local governments to aid them in planning efforts. The District completed a state environmental impact (State Environmental Policy Act) review for the plan with a two-week comment period.

2026-27 budget
The last item of business is a vote on whether to adopt a proposed budget for the 2026-27 school year.
Next year’s revenues are projected at $470.16 million, narrowly outpacing expenses by $85,000, according to District documents. This follows more than $20 million in budget reductions the District made in previous years to attempt to fill a chronic pattern of budget deficits.
