Garbage haulers from Waste Management, the company that provides garbage service to 75,000 Snohomish County homes and business, have gone on strike as of 10:30 am this morning.

More from the Herald:

The union representing Waste Management workers announced they decided to go on strike this morning “in response to Waste Management’s refusal to bargain.”

A release from the union also said the National Labor Relations Board is investigating several alleged labor law violations, including bargaining in bad faith, coercing employees, threatening to retaliate against workers and changing working conditions.

The workers have been picking up trash without a contract since April 1.
