“Social Justice Sundays” Sign-waving

Next Social Justice Sundays sign-waving is Sunday, May 10 – Mother’s Day – a good day to honor yours by celebrating moms of all kinds (birth, step, two moms, immigrant moms detained with their kids …) and make your voice heard.
Speak up on one of so many important issues facing this country like cuts to childcare, education, affordable healthcare, and food assistance, dangerous changes to reproductive and maternal healthcare, denial of systemic racism and cynical partisan gerrymandering, repeal of environmental regulations meant to protect us from climate change and dangerous toxic chemicals, the chaotic war in Iran endangering our troops and damaging our economy and national security, the build-up of for-profit prisons and immigration detention centers with shameful conditions, and blatant corruption at the highest echelons, to name a few.
Caring for our children, our families, and our fellow human beings is not a weakness – it is a strength and an imperative. Join Everyday Activists (@everydayshoreline.bsky.social) this Sunday or another, with sign-wavings scheduled every Sunday in May, 1-2 p.m., at the intersection of Aurora Avenue North and N. 205th St.
Bring a sign or just yourself (some will be available to borrow). Participants should be committed to peaceful protest. Non-perishable food and toiletry items will be accepted for donation to a local organization assisting those in need.
