Yes, I want to support My MLTnews!

If you are passionate about the role that a financially sustainable local news organization plays in maintaining strong communities, we should talk.

My Neighborhood News Group — which has been providing trusted local news in South Snohomish County since 2009 — is seeking new members for its volunteer board of directors.

Our board of directors plays a critical role in ensuring our nonprofit news organization fulfills its mission: Providing civic education and engagement for all stakeholders including those who have been traditionally underrepresented — and finding solutions for issues that matter to our communities.

In an era where many news organizations are downsizing or closing, MNNG is growing. We have increased our news coverage and our staffing since moving to 501(c)3 status in 2023. However, our community’s needs have also increased — requiring deeper and broader coverage of key issues  That takes financial resources, and we are seeking board members who are willing to roll up their sleeves and focus on fundraising, community engagement and outreach.

Board applicants should live in our coverage area, which includes the footprint of the Edmonds School District — the cities of Brier, Edmonds, Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace, Woodway and nearby unincorporated areas.

To apply, send a letter of interest and resume to [email protected].
