The National Association of Letter Carriers will hold its annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive on the second Saturday in May, asking residents to leave donations of healthy, nonperishable food near their mailboxes for pickup by letter carriers.
Some households may have already received a yellow plastic donation bag from the U.S. Postal Service to help collect food items for the drive.
Donated food will be collected during regular mail delivery routes and distributed to local food banks and pantries.

The nationwide drive is conducted in partnership with the U.S. Postal Service and several national organizations.
The annual campaign is intended to help replenish food bank supplies ahead of the summer months, when donations often decline and demand increases.
