Edmonds-Woodway defeated Snohomish 2-0
The tenth seeded Edmonds-Woodway Warriors are heading back to the state, qualifying as one of the four teams to advance from the 3A District One tournament by defeating the eighth-seeded Snohomish Panthers 2-0 on Thursday night at Shoreline Stadium.
Brian Diaz and Natan Ghebreamlak each scored goals for the Warriors. Daniel Abraham also added an assist and along with Isaiah Zabel, was one of two Edmonds-Woodway goaltenders to combine for the shutout. The Warriors improved to 10-10 on the season while the Panthers ended their season with a record of 8-10-2. The Warriors first-round state opponent and location will be announced over the weekend with the game scheduled to be played either Tuesday, May 20 or Wednesday, May 21.

The fifth-seeded Lynnwood Royals fell one game short of qualifying for the state tournament as second-seeded Mount Vernon advanced to next week’s state tournament with the 2-1 win. Mount Vernon improved to 15-2-1 overall on the season while Lynnwood’s final overall season record is 10-9-1.
