Under blue skies at Edmonds District Stadium, Mountlake Terrace High School graduated 338 seniors Saturday.

Graduates entered to Pomp and Circumstance, played by MTHS musicians under the direction of Jazz and Band Director Darin Faul and Ethan Powell. That was followed by the Star-Spangled Banner, performed by seniors Lucas Barquin, Vanessa Drake-Sargent, Charli Gilchrist and Cenai Kidane.

Principal David Friedle welcomed the graduates, followed by student speakers. Speakers chosen by the senior class were Madina Abdurashidova and Adam Esayas. The staff-selected speaker was Zack Yegremachew and the selected valedictorian speaker was Allison Mervin.

Following the speakers was Overture to Royal Fireworks Music, performed by MTHS instrumental musicians.

Family and friends watched from the stands, cheering loudly for the graduates as they received their diplomas.

The ceremonial turning of the tassel was led by senior Sadie Belanger, after which graduates tossed their caps into the air.

Graduates then left the stadium to the applause of those who gathered to celebrate their milestone.
