Weather for the event was near perfect, if a bit warm in the late evening sunshine. Those that came without sunglasses were rethinking that decision, and event programs were doing double duty as sunshades and hand fans.
Excitement, pride and contemplation flowed through the students and audience as a life chapter was celebrated and the future beckoned.

During an early evening graduation ceremony Saturday, Meadowdale High School celebrated its 359 graduating seniors with speeches, music and the traditional turning of the tassels and tossing of the caps.

Student leaders Dulce Alverez and Keegan Wright offered the event welcome and Land Acknowledgement.

The Class of 2026 entered to the sounds of the Meadowdale High band and orchestra, led by Band Director Christine Eisenmenger and Orchestra Director Nathan Rengstorf. Following a welcome by MHS Principal Kim Whitworth and seniors Dulce Alvarez and Keegan Wright, the Meadowdale High bands played the Star-Spangled Banner. Later, the Meadowdale High choir, directed by Jeff Horenstein, provided a musical interlude.
