Ballots will be mailed starting Wednesday, July 15 for the 2026 primary election, according to the Snohomish County Elections Office.
The top two vote-getters in a primary race with three or more candidates will continue to the general election, along with the races with two or fewer candidates.
Voters in the Sno-Isle Library District, which includes both Snohomish and Island counties, will also be asked to consider Proposition 1, a levy lid lift measure on the Aug. 4 ballot. Learn more about that proposal here.
Voter registration or updates
- July 27: Online and mail registrations must be received eight days before Election Day.
- Aug. 4: Deadline for Washington state voter registration or updates (in person only).

- Return your ballot by mail (no stamp required) or deposit your ballot in an official drop box by 8 p.m. on Election Day.

Candidates
Washington State Senate
A four-year term ending in 2031
21st Legislative District: Includes portions of Edmonds, Lynnwood, Everett and Mukilteo.
- Riaz Khan, Republican: Khan is a former Mukilteo City Councilmember and manufacturing engineer at Boeing. He previously ran for the position in 2018 and for the House seat in 2023. He also served on the Snohomish County Ethics Board and the Mukilteo School District budget committee.
- Marko Liias, Democrat (incumbent): Born and raised in Edmonds, Liias has served in the state Senate since 2014 and previously served in the State house beginning in 2008. He currently chairs the Senate Transportation Committee.
32nd Legislative District: Covers Mountlake Terrace, Woodway and portions of Edmonds and Lynnwood, as well as northwest Seattle and Shoreline
- Ira McBee, Republican: McBee resides in Lynnwood but had no campaign website or additional information publicly available at the time of reporting.
- Cindy Ryu, Democrat: Ryu has represented the 32nd District in the state House since 2011 and is vacating her seat to challenge incumbent Jesse Salomon. She chairs the House Technology, Economic Development and Veterans Committee and previously served on the Shoreline City Council.
- Jesse Salomon, Democrat (incumbent): Salomon has served in the state Senate since 2019 and is seeking his third term. He chairs the Senate Local Government Committee and previously served seven years on the Shoreline City Council before unseating incumbent Democratic Sen. Maralyn Chase in 2018.
State House of Representatives
Two-year term expiring in 2029.
1st Legislative District: Includes Brier, portions of Bothell and Kenmore, and unincorporated areas of south and central Snohomish County.
Position 1
- Davina Duerr, Democrat (incumbent): Duerr has occupied the seat since her appointment in July 2019 and has been re-elected three times. She previously served as deputy mayor of the Bothell City Council, and chairs the House Local Government Committee.
- Maggie Wang, Republican: No biographical information available at the time of reporting.
Position 2
- Jenne Alderks, Democrat: Alderks is the deputy mayor of Bothell and has served on the Bothell City Council since 2022 after two years on the city’s Planning Commission. Professionally, she works in Human Services for Snohomish County.
- Shelley Kloba, Democrat (incumbent): Having served in the position since 2017, Kloba serves as vice chair of the Technology, Economic Development and Veterans Committee. She previously served on the Kirkland City Council and as Washington State PTA Legislative Director.
- Jeff Lyon, Libertarian: Lyon is head of infrastructure security at Coinbase and previously ran for Woodinville City Council in 2025. He’s also a U.S. Navy veteran with experience at Amazon and Robinhood.
- Cliff Moon, Moon is a Lynnwood resident who owns and operates his own construction company, Moon Construction. He previously ran for election in the 7th Congressional District in 2024 and 2022, per Ballotpedia.
21st Legislative District: Includes portions of Edmonds, Lynnwood, Everett and Mukilteo.
Position 1
- Jason Moon, Democrat: Moon is president of the Mukilteo City Council and has served on the council since 2022. Aside from his professional work in public relations, he serves as vice president of the National League of Cities Asian Pacific American Municipal Officials board. He also ran for the position against incumbent Strom Peterson in 2024.
- Strom Peterson, Democrat (incumbent): Peterson has served in his position since 2015 and is the current chair of the House Housing Committee. He’s currently a Snohomish County Councilmember and previously served six years on the Edmonds City Council.
Position 2
- Bruce Guthrie, Libertarian: Guthrie is the retired founder of his own speed skating club and now works as a substitute teacher. This is his third time attempting to secure the seat, having run in 2024 and 2016.
- Lilian Ortiz-Self, Democrat (incumbent): Ortiz-Self has represented the 21st District since 2014 and serves as House Majority Caucus Chair. He has professional experience in the mental health sector and currently works as a school counselor for Everett Public Schools.
32nd Legislative District: Covers Mountlake Terrace, Woodway and portions of Edmonds and Lynnwood, as well as northwest Seattle and Shoreline. Rep. Cindy Ryu is vacating this seat to run for Senate.
Position 1
- Chris Bloomquist, Democrat: Bloomquist is a recruiter in the technology industry and co-founded his own recruitment firm.
- Will Chen, Democrat: Chen has served on the Edmonds City Council since 2022 and runs his own accounting firm.
- Jenna Nand, Democrat: Nand is also an Edmonds City Councilmember elected in 2022 and works as a business attorney.
- Danica Noble, Democrat: Noble, is a former consumer and antitrust attorney for the Federal Trade Commission and is co-chair of the Antitrust, Consumer Protection and Unfair Businesses Section of the Washington State Bar Association. She also represents the Washington State Parent Teacher Association.
- Lisa Rezac, Republican: Rezac has professional experience in fundraising for nonprofits and owns her own fundraising company. She previously ran for this seat in 2024.
- Keith Scully, Democrat: Scully is the mayor of Shoreline and has served on the Shoreline City Council since 2016. Professionally he works as a business attorney.
Position 2
- Lauren Davis, Democrat (incumbent): Davis has served in her position since 2019 and is the executive director and co-founder of the Washington Recovery Alliance.
- Imraan Sidiqui, Democrat: Siddiqi serves as Washington state director for the Council on American-Islamic Relations. He previously ran for the 8th Congressional District in 2024.
South Snohomish County District Court
Judges serve four-year terms, expiring in 2031. All three sitting South District Court judges filed for reelection and no challengers filed for any of the three seats as of the candidate filing deadline.

- Position 3: Matthew Baldock
Snohomish County Prosecutor
Four-year term expiring 2031.
Incumbent prosecutor Jason Cummings is running uncontested to keep his position. He was elected in 2022 after nearly 25 years in the Snohomish County Prosecutor’s Office, the last 14 as chief civil deputy.
