A 15-year-old boy was taken into custody early Saturday morning after he allegedy fired a gun at a car along the Edmonds waterfront, slightly injuring an 18-year-old Lynnwood woman.
According to Edmonds Asst. Police Chief Josh McClure, officers responded just after 1:10 a.m. Saturday to a reported shooting in the 400 block of Admiral Way, near the Anthony’s Restaurant parking lot. The incident involved two groups of people, and “some members of each group knew one another and had a history of dispute,” McClure said in an email.
The 15-year-old, who was known to one of the victims, fired a gun at four people in a car, which “was moving in an attempt to flee from the suspect,” McClure said. The Lynnwood woman was struck in the arm and suffered a grazing wound. She was evaluated at the scene and did not require hospitalization.
Other victims in the car were listed as two females from Lynnwood, ages 18 and 20, and a 17-year-old female from Marysville.
The suspect, a former Mountlake Terrace resident now living in Bellevue, was located and taken into custody in the waterfront area just before 3 a.m., McClure said. He was later booked into the Denney Juvenile Justice Center on two charges of first-degree assault, two charges of reckless endangerment and second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm.
Detectives were still on the scene investigating Saturday morning, McClure said, and a vehicle has been impounded for evidence.
