Will you chip in to support our nonprofit newsroom with a donation today?
Yes, I want to support My MLTnews!Inventory your pantry and lace up your walking shoes for the “Step Up for Neighbors” fundraiser from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, July 25 at the Lake Ballinger Center, 23000 Lakeview Dr. in Mountlake Terrace.
Admission to the event is free, but you are encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations to help restock the shelves of the Concern for Neighbors Food Bank.
“Step Up for Neighbors” combines outdoor activity with community networking. Organizers have designed an interactive, passport-style experience to encourage attendees to explore everything the event has to offer. Here’s how it works:
-
Grab Your Passport: Upon arrival, participants will pick up an official event card.
-
Walk the Path: Attendees will stroll along an ADA-accessible, stroller-friendly route lined with various booths.
-
Collect Stamps: By visiting different local organizations, health resources and community booths, participants will connect with neighbors and collect stamps to complete their passport cards.
The event is designed to be inclusive for all ages and abilities. In addition to the main walking path, families can expect dedicated kids’ activities, booths hosted by local organizations, and opportunities to connect with health and community resources.
