Amber Lynn, location leader at Beck’s Tribute Center in Edmonds, recently was featured in New York City’s Times Square as part of a national campaign recognizing the work of funeral professionals.
Lynn, a licensed funeral director and embalmer, appeared in Chptr’s “The First Call” campaign, a public recognition initiative highlighting the role funeral directors play in guiding families through loss and supporting communities in life’s most difficult moments.
Displayed on digital billboards in the heart of Times Square, the campaign brought national visibility to a profession that often works quietly behind the scenes.
The name The First Call reflects a reality many families know well: After the death of a loved one, funeral professionals are among the very first people families turn to for guidance, steadiness and care.
“This was never about seeing my face in Times Square,” Lynn said. “It was about seeing an entire profession recognized for the way it shows up with strength, compassion and support when families need it most.”
Lynn was one of more than 140 funeral service professionals recognized during the live viewing of “The First Call” tribute video in New York City on April 23, 2026.
“Being included in the campaign was an opportunity to represent both the profession and the local families who place their trust in our Beck”s Tribute Center team each day. For one evening, the people who answer the first call were seen in one of the most visible places in the world. It meant a lot to all of us,” Lynn said.
The campaign was created by Chptr — a community storytelling company — in partnership with the National Funeral Directors Association, Tribute Technology and Homesteaders Life Company to honor funeral professionals across the country.
Beck’s Tribute Center has been serving families in Edmonds and surrounding communities since 1951.
