People traveling on Interstate 5 in downtown Seattle should plan for overnight lane and ramp closures from Monday, May 11, through Friday morning, May 15.

What to expect

The following I-5 lane and ramp closures will take place from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning:

  • Monday night, May 11: The left lane of the southbound I-5 collector/distributor lane between James Street and I-90.
  • Tuesday night, May 12: The left lane of southbound I-5 between 6th Avenue South/Forest Street and West Seattle Bridge/Columbian Way.
  • Wednesday and Thursday nights, May 13-14: The northbound I-5 right lane between Seneca Street and Olive Street, the northbound Cherry Street on-ramp and the northbound Olive Street off-ramp.

This work is part of an ongoing graffiti abatement collaboration between the Washington State Department of Transportation and the City of Seattle.
