Jennette Baird Halverson: A dedicated Edmonds Arts Festival volunteer, she valued family and friends

Jennette Baird Halverson

Jennette (JB) Halverson was born on April 17, 1950 in Seattle to Floyd and Betty Halverson. She spent her childhood in Everett, WA and graduated from Cascade High School in 1968. During high school she was a proud member of the Everett Bethel Order of Job’s daughters and was the Honored Queen her senior year.

Jennette received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Washington. She joined the karate club at the UW rising to the level of black belt. She applied her knowledge of defense to present workshops for the Rape Prevention Forum. Much of her remaining career was spent as a real estate loan officer locally and in Alaska.

JB moved to her home in Edmonds in 1993. She loved the small town feel of Edmonds and its proximity to the water, its mountain views and local shops. JB was a dedicated volunteer at the annual Edmonds Arts Festival and chaired several committees.

Most important to JB were her family, friends and her beloved cats, Rose and Iris. She never missed an opportunity to send a card filled with confetti. Holidays, travel and any chance to spend time with family and friends brought tremendous joy to JB.

The family would like to express our deep appreciation to the volunteers of the Northwest Neighbors Network for their generous and loving support of JB throughout the past 3 years.
Jennette passed away on March 12th at the age of 75.
