
Joe John Stanek Jr., age 77, passed away June 25, 2026 peacefully at home surrounded by family.
Joe was born January 3, 1949 in Spokane, Washington son of the late Joe Stanek Sr. and Claire Stanek.
From an early age, Joe distinguished himself through both determination and athleticism. As an athlete, he earned varsity letters in football and track while attending Rogers High School.
Joe served his country in the United States Army & served during the Vietnam war. He later settled in Lynnwood, Washington. He started his working career at Standard Oil where he made many lifelong friends. He later worked for the City of Seattle for several years, where he enjoyed a long and successful career before retiring
He had a love for all Seattle sports and was a loyal Seahawk supporter with season tickets for 50 years.
Joe possessed a passion for life. Those who knew him best will remember him for his unmistakable sense of humor, his laugh, and the kindness he shared so freely. He was a man of passion, strength, steadfast character, and deep love for those around him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Stanek.
He is survived by son, Guy, daughter in-law Andrea, granddaughter Chantalle, sister Darlene, brother Frank, girlfriend Leilani along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss him.
At the family’s request there will be no service at this time.
