The City of Mountlake Terrace will host its annual “Arbor Day in Action” volunteer event from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 25, at Ballinger Park.
The spring event, held in recognition of Earth Day and Arbor Day, will include light landscaping activities such as pruning, weeding, removing invasive plants and trash pickup. Organizers said the event is open to all ages.
Volunteers are asked to meet at the north end of the park near the Lake Ballinger Center for a brief orientation at 9 a.m. No RSVP is required.
Participants are encouraged to bring gloves and tools such as rakes, weed pullers and non-electric pruning equipment, though a limited number of tools will be available on-site. Boots are recommended depending on weather conditions, and children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Volunteers will receive a free swim voucher for use at the Mountlake Terrace Recreation Pavilion.
