Mountlake Terrace High School invites musicians and the public to a a community jazz jam session from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 14, at North City Bistro to raise funds for their upcoming trip to New York.
Participants can bring their instruments and join students for a song or two, while others are encouraged to relax, enjoy the food and support the performers. Drums, bass and a piano will be provided.
All tips and 10% of food and beverage sales during the event will support the school’s Jazz 1 ensemble.

“We have played here many times. I work with North City Bistro to host youth jam sessions about six to seven times a year for the past two years. The owners are fantastic,” MTHS Band Boosters Coordinator Brett Holt said.
The jam session is open to musicians of all experience levels, including students interested in practicing improvisation or performing in a small jazz group for the first time.
