Restaurant News: Nashville-style chicken coming to Lynnwood, cocktail classes in Edmonds and an MLT wine bar

Dave’s Hot Chicken

Dave’s Hot Chicken will be opening a franchise in Lynnwood near the Alderwood Mall by the end of the year. Serving “Nashville Style” chicken fingers, the newest location in Washington state will be located at 18505 Alderwood Mall Parkway. Dave’s currently operates four chicken restaurants in the Puget Sound area: The first opening was in Seattle’s Capitol Hill followed by other locations in Redmond, Tacoma and Federal Way.  Check out the menu.

Kelnero cocktails

Kelnero on Main Street has announced extended hours:

Sunday to Thursday: 4 to 11 p.m.
Friday: 4 p.m to 1 a.m.
Saturday: 3 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Happy Hour: Tuesday to Thursday, 4-5 p.m. and 9 p.m. to close, and all day Monday

South of the Border  Sunday, Aug. 16, noon. Cocktails from the South.

The Caribbean!  Sunday, Aug. 23, noon. Tropical drinks

West Coast Classics  Sunday, Sept. 6, noon. Explore the best locally born and bred cocktails.

East Coast Classics  Sunday, Sept. 20, noon. U.S. cocktail culture really started off on the East Coast.

Tour de France  Sunday, Oct. 4, noon. French cocktails

Tour de Italy Sunday, Oct. 18, noon. All things bitter, all things vermouth, all things awesome.

All classes are $125 per person unless otherwise noted and reservations are required. Reserve your spot with a deposit, deducted from your bill the day of the class. All tools and ingredients are provided for use in class, and available for purchase or pre-order for your home bar. Full bartending kit purchased with deposit or during class will receive $10 off the full price. Taps at Gallaghers’ Where U Brew

Gallaghers’ Where U Brew

Gallaghers’ Chris Dufore notes that the Port of Edmonds is replacing all windows in the brewery and Gallaghers will be closed for renovations in August and September. “We are grateful to the Port and look forward to the sprucing up!” he said. “Call us at 425-776-4209 to schedule your bottling before Aug. 1!” Customers can can still come in for a pint during regular hours until Aug. 1, he added. “Thank you all for your continued support — The Gallaghers Community means everything to us.”

SKOG Haus Wine Bar

SKOG Haus Coffee and now Wine Bar!

Owners Heather and Dave Skogerson have opened a Wine Bar in their Mountlake Terrace Coffee Haus location. They will be serving local Washington wines by the glass and full bottles as well as craft non-alcoholic options and artisanal small bites.

Hours: Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5-10 p.m. Ages 21+ only.

Deborah Binder lives in Edmonds with her family. She loves to cook from scratch using produce from the gardens she created with her husband. She attended culinary school and worked for restaurants, caterers and culinary schools.
