Sketcher Fest Edmonds unveils official 2026 poster

Sketcher Fest Edmonds unveiled its official 2026 festival poster April 27, featuring original artwork by Shoreline artist David Chamness.

The ink-and-watercolor illustration captures the roundabout at 5th Avenue and Main Street in downtown Edmonds and includes several local landmarks, including the “Cedar Dreams” fountain by artist Benson Shaw, the historic Beeson Building and the Edmonds Theater. Puget Sound is visible in the background.

“It is the cultural and commercial center of Edmonds,” Chamness said. “Many people only see Edmonds as they drive to take the ferry to Kingston, but they miss the downtown village with its charming historic core and Washington state’s first Creative District.”

Chamness, a member of Urban Sketchers Seattle, will return to the festival as a guest artist for the third year. He is scheduled to lead a workshop on travel sketching and give a presentation about a recent six-month trip through Europe.

“I’ll share how I managed to make more than 300 sketches in 151 days while visiting Germany, Poland, England and Turkey,” Chamness said.

Now in its fourth year, Sketcher Fest Edmonds brings together urban sketchers, travel sketchbook artists, publishers and art vendors for workshops, lectures and exhibits.

Urban Sketchers Founder Gabriel “Gabi” Campanario said the meeting point for the workshops will be ArtWorks, and the artists’ reception and all Artists Talks will be at the Edmonds Waterfront Center.

“This year promises to be the biggest yet, with hundreds of sketchbook enthusiasts already registered to learn from 20 Guest Artists coming to the festival from as far as Tokyo, Brisbane, Hong Kong, London and Barcelona,” Campanario said.
