Economic Alliance Snohomish County (EASC) will host an upcoming Coffee Chats session titled From Fans to Foot Traffic: FIFA®’s Impact on Tourism and Local Business, offering regional employers, tourism partners, small businesses and community leaders an opportunity to explore how major global events like the FIFA World Cup™ can influence regional economic activity and business readiness.
“Major international events create ripple effects that extend well beyond host venues,” Ray Stephanson, President & CEO of Economic Alliance Snohomish County said.
“This conversation is an opportunity for employers, tourism partners and community leaders to better understand how regional collaboration and proactive planning can help local businesses benefit from increased visitor activity and global visibility.”
Communities across Snohomish County are beginning to assess the impact in tourism, hospitality, transportation, retail and local services from increased visitor activity tied to FIFA events. This Coffee Chats discussion is designed for employers, tourism and hospitality professionals, small business owners, civic leaders and community partners, and will examine how business preparedness can help convert short-term visitor demand into long-term economic opportunity.
The conversation will feature Tammy Dunn, Executive Director of the Snohomish County Sports Commission. Additional panelists to be announced.
“Major sporting events create opportunities that extend far beyond the games themselves,” Dunn said.
“FIFA-related tourism activity has the potential to introduce new visitors to Snohomish County’s communities, businesses and attractions while strengthening regional partnerships that support long-term economic growth. We’re excited to be part of a conversation focused on helping local organizations prepare for and maximize those opportunities.”
Presented by Welcome Magazine and the Port of Everett, the virtual session will take place Tuesday, June 9, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. via Zoom as part of EASC’s monthly Coffee Chats series.
The event is free. Registration is required. RSVP here: https://bit.ly/CC_SoccerFans. For more information, please visit EconomicAllianceSC.org or contact us at [email protected].
