Families are invited to enjoy free activities, meet firefighters and learn lifesaving skills at South County Fire’s Kids Fire Camps this summer.

South County Fire will host five free camps beginning July 23, giving children and their caregivers an interactive opportunity to connect with neighborhood firefighters while learning important safety skills.

Each camp lasts one to two hours and will be held at locations throughout South County Fire’s service area. Community members may drop in at any time during camp hours. Caregivers are asked to remain on site and should not leave children unattended.

Activities will put a summer spin on fire and emergency education, allowing children to learn while participating in hands-on challenges. Returning campers can also expect new activities and attractions this year.

Registration is not required, although residents may sign up for email reminders and confirmations through South County Fire’s Eventbrite page.

Activities include fire truck visits, hands-only CPR demonstrations, firefighter challenges and relay races.
