The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission will hold its regular commission meeting on Thursday, July 9 at its headquarters in Lacey. This is a hybrid meeting, and the public is welcome to attend in-person or online.
Agenda items include:
- A requested easement from the City of Spokane on the Spokane River Centennial State Park Trail
- Requested approval of the Mount Spokane State Park Master Plan
- Evaluation of grant projects proposed in the State Parks category of the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program
- A financial update, including operating and capital budget expenditures, and Parks Renewal and Stewardship Account revenues
A work session is scheduled the day before the regular meeting, on July 8. Work sessions are open to the public, however, there will be no opportunity for the public to comment, and no formal action will be taken.

On Tuesday, July 7, the Commission will be joining State Parks leadership and staff on a parks tour that includes a portion of the Palouse to Cascades State Park Trail and Lake Sammamish State Park. The public is invited to attend the tour but must provide their own transportation.
The tour will begin at the Palouse to Cascades State Park Trail – Homestead Valley Trailhead at 9:30 a.m. The group will arrive at Lake Sammamish at 12 p.m. The tour will conclude by 3 p.m.
