The Snohomish County Council will consider three proposed ordinances related to the county’s Transportation Benefit District during a public hearing 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 13.
According to the Council, the notice was issued as a part of Motion 26-117, adopted in March 2026, which aims to increase public awareness of potential tax increases under consideration by the county.
The ordinances under consideration are:
Proposed Ordinance 26-009: Snohomish County Council – File #: 2025-3508
Proposed Ordinance 26-010: Snohomish County Council – File #: 2025-3509
Proposed Ordinance 26-011: Snohomish County Council – File #: 2025-3510
If adopted, the ordinances would allow the geographic boundaries of the Transportation Benefit District to change alongside unincorporated county boundaries to accommodate future annexations. The measures would also affirm the County Council as the district’s governing board, allow district funds to be used for annual construction plans and transportation improvement projects, establish a $20 annual vehicle tab fee and create the administrative process needed to implement the fee.
The public hearing agenda is available through the County Council agenda.
