Historians from the Lynnwood-Alderwood Manor Heritage Association and Museum will host a free presentation “Before Light Rail: the Seattle-Everett Interurban Story, 1910-1929” on Saturday, May 23, at Heritage Park, 19921 Poplar Way.

The event will take place inside the historic trolley at Heritage Park and will focus on the history of the interurban railway that once connected communities between Seattle and Everett.

Organizers said the presentation will examine the role the Seattle-Everett interurban rail system played in regional transportation and community development during the early 20th century. The event is part of the City of Lynnwood’s ongoing community and history programming through its History and Heritage Board.

More information is available through the City of Lynnwood event page.
