Over the past four years, I have participated in the community coaching soccer at Alderwood middle school. I have also been a varsity athlete for the past four years and broke a school record this year! I have also participated in carpentry and construction for the past two years and taken running start. I want to thank Mrs. Kellogg and any staff at Lynnwood and Mountlake Terrace high school who have cheered me on these past years.

Ana Clara Moreira Fogaca

I truly love being involved with school, I enjoy being inclusive and showing how much my peers matter to me, unified soccer, leadership and cheer have taught me how to be a good friend and someone who people can rely on, school has taught me how to be patient and put love on what I do.

I am honestly so thankful for this recognition. I think I find a lot of wonder in the ordinary things — the way my science lessons click or the way a simple conversation can brighten mine or someone else’s day. I try to show up every day with an open mind and genuine curiosity, not just for the material, but for my classmates and teachers. If I had a “secret” to my success, it’s simply that I care — a lot. I care about my future in nursing, the hard work my teachers put in, and being a supportive friend. I make an effort to work hard, even when things get tough, because I believe every challenge I face is helping prepare me to do something great, like becoming a nurse. Ultimately, I’m just trying to treat others with the same kindness I wish to receive, and I truly appreciate the recognition. Thank you.

This year while serving as Thespian President for Gold Honor Troupe #7469 I worked alongside many peers to create engaging and organized large group events, as well as small group work days for our Thespian troupe. Not only that, but I have been the stage manger for EHPA’s Advanced Musical Theatre level since seventh grade. In my role I work with both peers and adult mentors to create smooth and well-prepared productions each semester. I strongly believe that communication is a major key to success and something I always try to foster in my work. Outside of theater, I am an Edmonds College Honor Student with a 4.0 and graduating with an Associate of Arts degree alongside my high school diploma after skipping my tenth grade year. I plan to pursue a Bachelors Degree in Psychology followed by a Masters to become a therapist. After many years at Edmonds Heights I am so grateful to everyone who helped me grow into the person I am today.

I’ve been doing really well on my homework and classes. Been very helpful with people in my class and other students. And be very kind and sweet and smile. When students need help I will help them. What I want to accomplish is graduate.

I don’t think I’m more special or set apart than anyone else. I just stayed focused and made sure I wouldn’t be left behind on my assignments and tried my best to keep up. I also tried to help any who needed it this year even if I didn’t have much to give.

My academic accomplishments this year have been nothing short of fantastic these last two semesters with my work ethic and strive to improve in every field I get myself into. This has been the case since my freshman year and I’m happy to say that this student of the month placement is because of that. I’ve also been a constant presence in all my classes as a friend to many thanks to my status as a social butterfly. My placement within NHS with a 15-25 hours in each year is another reason why for my placement giving my GPA always being 3.5 or higher each semester.

Cassie Garrett

Hi, I’m Cassie and I’m a student musician! I play trumpet and euphonium, and I am proud to have served as a drum major this year. My favorite thing about the music community is the people. I’ve made so many friends through the ensembles I’ve played in and through the Tri-M National Music Honor Society, which is essentially a social club for music students. I’ve been the secretary this year and it’s been a great experience. I will be continuing music next year as a member of the Oregon Marching Band at the University of Oregon. Outside of music, I’m also a National Honor Society member, the Vice President of Rainbow Warriors, and a Girl Scout! I’m lucky to be involved with so many wonderful communities full of wonderful people.

Kelly Luu

I’m really grateful to be recognized in this manner. I think my selection stems from my engagement with extracurriculars that push me to elevate the school environment and ensure that the student community feels supported. I’m committed to maintaining high quality work within my classes and I appreciate the vast variety of educational opportunities that have been provided to me throughout my time at EWHS.

Ella Scholz-Bertram

I’m dedicated both in and outside of school. As a full-IB student, I’ve received the Social Studies Department Award for my contributions in IB HL History 12 as well as put my all into each and every one of my classes, especially my favorites like Chemistry and English. I always enjoy connecting with my teachers by asking any and all of my questions because I have a habit of wanting to know more. I’ve also attended, and eventually taught, at the German Language School of Seattle and earned my DSDII language certificate at a C1 level. I’m also a senior dancer at Haven Dance Academy and have gone outside of my comfort zone of ballet in the last few years by experimenting with other dance styles. I’ve grown up with lots of animals, some strays or with health problems, but I love them; they’ve become one of my Achilles heels.

Alison Schell

It is an honor to have been chosen as an EWHS Student of the Month. As a full IB student, I know what it means to be dedicated and to put in hard work to produce a meaningful impact. This carries over to my sports life as well. At EW I am a part of the girls soccer team as well as a Captain of the track team where I have learned to lead by example and have gained valuable skills in growth mindset and how to work with a team. I am also a part of a Key Clubs and Model UN at EW, which taught me to broaden my horizons and give back to my community. Outside of my school community, I volunteer at the Edmonds food bank, as well as many community events. Beyond that, I have been on the FC Edmonds Club soccer team for 6 years throughout my high school career.

The reason I believe I have been nominated as student of the month for May is that I have been improving in all of my classes. No matter how hard the work is, I manage to get it done and push myself in the right direction, the direction being graduation. As someone who struggles with school work, it has been much less difficult and stressful than I thought it would be and it is mainly due to the help of my teachers and friends. Being able to ask for help has always been a hard thing for me, and learning to actually reach out this year helped me see my potential and what I can achieve.

Jayden Rincon

I believe I was selected as Student of the Month because of my commitment to academic excellence, involvement in my school community, and dedication to personal growth. Throughout high school, I have worked hard to maintain strong grades while balancing extracurricular activities and other responsibilities. As a member of the National Honor Society, I strive to uphold the values of scholarship, leadership, service, and character both in and out of the classroom. I also make an effort to support my peers, contribute positively to my school environment, and lead by example through my actions. Being recognized as Student of the Month is a meaningful honor, and I am grateful for the support of my teachers, family, and classmates who have helped me succeed.

I am truly grateful and honored to be recognized by the teachers/staff for this accomplishment, I give thanks to God above all, as well as every teacher who helps me become better each and every day. As well as friends and family members who keep encouraging me to do my best everyday. Thank you all for this opportunity.

First off, I would like to say that I’m grateful for being voted Student of the Month. I believe that there are many different reasons as to why I was voted for. This all starts with my involvement on the cross country and track teams, as I have become a dedicated runner that trains hard and smart every single day, no matter what. This has taught me patience, perseverance, and most importantly, the value of hard work and dedication. I have taken these and applied them to the classroom setting, working my hardest and always applying myself to show my true self. I believe this is what sets me apart from my peers. But, the most important reason as to why I am here is my friends and family that surround me. This is especially true for my best friend Romeo, who has constantly pushed me to be a better version of myself, both in the classroom and running on the road. Without his guidance and constant guiding hand, I would not be where I am in life. Thank you again for this great honor.
