The Foundation for Edmonds School District has announced the recipients of its 2026 Living Legends Awards, which recognize individuals whose service and leadership have made a lasting impact on students, schools and the broader Edmonds School District community.

The awards were established in 1984 by former Superintendent Hal Reasby during the District’s centennial celebration. Reintroduced in 2019, the program honors educators, staff, volunteers and community members whose contributions have helped shape the District, according to the Foundation’s news release.

The 2026 recipients are:

Susan Campbell

Campbell has volunteered with the Foundation’s Nourishing Network program for more than 10 years, helping provide food assistance to students experiencing food insecurity. She has spent countless hours sorting food, preparing supplies and delivering weekend meal kits to students and families throughout the District.

Mike Pittis

A 1964 graduate of Edmonds High School, Pittis spent 38 years teaching and coaching in the Edmonds School District. He led volleyball and basketball programs while mentoring generations of student-athletes and continues to support students through scholarships and mentorship.

Jennie Warmouth

Warmouth has been recognized for her work in the classroom and her leadership in literacy, environmental stewardship and youth empowerment programs. Her efforts have included creating opportunities for students to showcase their work through National Geographic and encouraging students to engage with their communities.

Jacob Bergevin

Bergevin spent decades building and leading music education programs in the district. Former students have remained involved as volunteers, mentors and advocates, reflecting the long-term impact of his work in fostering community and student engagement.

Maria Veloz Manzano

While serving in campus security at Edmonds-Woodway High School, Manzano has become a mentor and advocate for students and families. She assists Spanish-speaking families, supports students academically and emotionally, and helps create an inclusive environment for the school community.

“One of the things that makes our community special is the number of people who choose to invest their time, talents and treasure in helping others,” Foundation for Edmonds School District Executive Director Deborah Brandi said. “This year’s Living Legend recipients have collectively dedicated decades of service to students and families, and we are proud to recognize the lasting impact they have made.”
