Yes, I want to support My MLTnews!Editor:
As president of Sno-Isle Libraries Employees United Local 73, I am writing on behalf of our union to urge voters to vote yes on Proposition 1. We represent your dedicated library staffers who serve our community members from all walks of life in so many ways that go far beyond books.
Every day, we assist folks who are trying to reenter the job market after being laid off or coming out of retirement.
Every day, we provide families a free, safe space to meet and play together no matter how wet, hot or smoky it is outside.
Every day, we check out hundreds of Wi-Fi hotspots, allowing rural residents to gain internet connections that would otherwise be impossible to access or afford.
Every day, our multilingual staff help provide our growing, diverse communities with opportunities for learning and connection.
And every day, our staff are there, greeting you from the library desk or working behind the scenes to help make all these things possible. We know we serve our communities well, which is why our union is now asking our communities to support us by voting yes on Proposition 1.
Our collective bargaining contract is up at the end of this year. Your support of the levy ensures that our union has the best chance to fight for livable wages that keep pace with inflation and increased benefits for your hardworking library staff. Your support of this ballot measure directly supports our work in serving everyone across Snohomish and Island Counties.
