A candlelight vigil remembering people who lost their lives in 2025 and 2026 while in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody or during ICE operations will take place from 8-9 p.m. Friday, May 15, at the Jerry Smith Town Center Plaza, 23204 58th Ave. W., near the Mountlake Terrace City Hall.

According to organizers, the event will provide “a space for collective mourning” open to all faiths and traditions, and it will welcome community members to gather in remembrance and solidarity.

The vigil will include remarks from local faith leaders and community members, community songs and a reading of names.

The event is organized by Mountlake Terrace Immigrant Advocacy & Rapid Response. Organizers said parking will be available at City Hall, and attendees are encouraged to dress for the weather.
