My Neighborhood News Group — My Edmonds News, My MLT News and My Lynnwood News — celebrated Local News Day April 9 with two news cafes. Staff spent the morning at EdWay Taphouse and Coffee Cafe and were present in the early evening — with our Se Habla Media partners — at Matazlan Restaurant in Mountlake Terrace. The goal was to connect reporters with readers, hear story ideas and celebrate the role that local news plays in our communities.

While Local News Day was April 9, we are asking for reader support to ensure trusted news coverage in South Snohomish County. MNNG has launched a $10,000 Spring Into Action for Local News matching campaign. Thanks to the generosity of local donors who requested anonymity, all donations through April 30 will be matched, up to $10,000. There are two easy ways to participate: text localnews to 50155 or visit our online donation page here.

Thanks to all who attended our events April 9, and we will see you next year.
