Sustainable Community Stewards at the Snohomish County WSU Extension are hosting an Upcycled Art Workshop from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15 at the Mountlake Terrace Library, 23300 58th Ave. W., Mountlake Terrace.
During the event, you will upcycle paper bags into a Junk Journal with handles and pockets.
Junk Journals are a way to creatively save and display your memories, doodles, bits of paper, ticket stubs, stickers and other memorabilia while preventing unrecyclable paper from going to the landfill.
Organizers will supply all the materials to create your journal. Bring some scraps to make your first journal entry; collage materials, felt pens and other supplies to embellish the page will be provided. Then take it home and start saving all those sentimental paper scraps.
