Music4Life will host a dine-in fundraiser at Shawn O’Donnell’s Irish Pub & Restaurant at 122 128th St. SE, Everett from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 23, with proceeds supporting the nonprofit’s mission to provide free musical instruments to local students in need.

About 20% of proceeds from all food and nonalcoholic beverage sales will benefit Music4Life, which collects, repairs and distributes donated instruments to public school students whose families may not be able to afford them.

Guests will also enjoy a live performance by local Celtic music group The Stumbling Fiddler, adding live entertainment to an evening focused on community support.

Music4Life aims to remove financial barriers that can prevent students from participating in school music programs. The cost of purchasing or renting instruments is often a significant obstacle for families.

“Research shows students who participate in school-based instrumental music programs perform better academically,” said Jane Webber, president of the Everett Music4Life chapter. “Being involved in music also teaches teamwork, discipline and perseverance. Participation in instrumental music programs helps build a foundation for lifelong success.”

Music4Life operates five chapters across Snohomish County, serving Edmonds, Everett, Marysville, Monroe and Sky Valley (Sultan and Index) school districts. Funds raised during the event will be shared among participating chapters and used to evaluate and repair donated instruments before they are distributed to students.

Community members who cannot attend can still support the organization by donating gently used instruments or making a monetary contribution. Instruments often have a lifespan of three to 15 years or more, allowing a single donation to benefit multiple students over time.
