Sno-Isle Libraries Summer Reading program is designed to foster a love of reading across Island and Snohomish counties. This summer, all ages are invited to enjoy books and fun, free events at the library.

Participants who read (or are read to) for 10 hours will get a prize. Kids and teens will get a free book and sticker, and adults will get a tote bag while supplies last. All reading is encouraged, in any language or format — including audiobooks. The Summer Reading program kicks off June 1, and readers have until Aug. 31 to participate.

Reading over the summer helps students maintain and improve reading skills gained during the school year. Sno-Isle Libraries is excited to extend the program to adults, so that community members of all ages can achieve their reading goals together.

This year’s Summer Reading theme is Your Story, Your World, bringing together the excitement of soccer and the power of reading to unite communities. Author and illustrator Chad Otis brings this theme to life with original art that evokes movement, creative expression and team spirit.

In 2025, there were 7,006 Summer Reading finishers, the most in the program’s history. Together, participants logged 1,694,244 minutes of reading. Across the Library District, more than 11,000 kids and teens attended one of 275 in-person and online programs.
