Mike Thomas, founder of the Everett Royals semi-professional football team and a co-founder of the Washington Wolfpack arena football team, will be a featured panelist at a Juneteenth celebration Sunday, June 14 at the Mountlake Terrace Library, 23300 58th Ave. W.

Thomas will share his experiences and perspectives as part of a discussion highlighting the impact of African Americans in sports and the broader community.

Hosted by the City of Mountlake Terrace and Sno-Isle Libraries, the free public event will celebrate Juneteenth, the holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. Activities will take place at the library and throughout the Mountlake Terrace Civic Campus.

The celebration, which runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., will include music, networking opportunities, free food, local vendors and community discussions.
